Comb: Roman Period
Double-sided comb with fine and wide teeth on each side. The dual-styling comb was cut from durable oxen or camel-bone, but was eventually discarded. An object of everyday personal use, the comb is representative of thousands of such remnants of material culture which filled the rubbish mounds of Oxyrhynchus, side by side with the papyri.
